I stayed on the couch of a friend of mine- Maria. A long time- four months! And a little here and there. Before that I lived with my ex-

How did the group decide on squatting Mother Sweetheart Street?

Someone tipped us off, and a meeting was held
So, we got info about it, and we did it.

Have the elderly been consistently positive with you moving in here?
My impression is that it’s been almost entirely positive. There’s especially one of them who’s really happy that we came, and who’s called us god’s messengers and all! Uh- don’t think so! But anyway..! We’ve complemented each other really well, and they support us, and of course occasionally something happens that isn’t all positive, it can’t be positive all the time,. Without the negative there wouldn’t be any positive,. So, for the most part, 90% good. Amazingly, I think!

How close is your contact with the elderly? Do you help them, or is it more like ‘they live there and you live here’?

Well, as far as I’m concerned, I’m not really fond of people in general! So I don’t know any of them personally, but I know that a lot of them here do, and they help them and cut their hair, wash windows, sand the walkway,
Like a kind of symbiosis!

Do you think people are at all influenced by each other in terms of clothing style? Have yu been influenced by the elderly, for example?

Well, I’ve gotten blue hair! A little darker, but still! No, I don’t know what kind of influence they’ve had on my personal style, but everything influences you subconsciously, no matter what.

What kind of relationship do you have to clothing in general? Do you buy clothing often?

I never buy clothing anymore, it’s a long time since I’ve done that. But I always find lots of cool stuff, and borrow stockings, and people give me stuff, and I cut and paste
I love clothing because it’s such a good way to express yourself- you can use all kinds of colors, anything, it’s extremely interesting. I like visual forms of expression because I’m not a “words” type of person, really.

This is the best placed I’ve ever lived! Damn, there’s just about enough space for me to, develop myself. I’ve painted and kept busy, and hung pictures. The coolest is moving into a new place, ‘cause I can make the space exactly how I want it to be. And it’s great because I’ve never had my own toilet before! Your own bathroom- how’s that for luxury! Not to mention your own kitchen! Yeah, it’s really cool!

What do you see the future bringing? Do you think you’ll be able to continue living here?
Well, I don’t really consider the future
We just live, you know! Damn! As long as the pigs let us live in peace. We’ll just have to be smarter! But the future? I have no idea. I’m enjoying myself now, and that’s what really counts: right now.
